yeah, I was just thinking that 's kind of overkill for 1/144th scale.

Yeah it is a bit bigger than I thought it was going to be!
Especially in comparison with the Lilliputian Morane.

Here is the finished jig with the star of our show mounted in it.

Moving along with the build I started the wash on the fuselage, here on the right is the beginning of the wash, the left side is untouched.

Wash Started by The 3rd Placer, on Flickr

Using the Tamiya Dark Brown Panel Liner the wash was completed on both sides then given a flat coat.

The wash goes on dark but when flat coated it knocks it down a little.

Yes magnets in the brackets hold the wings in place, they are quite strong.

We will see how useful they are eventually!

Superb woodwork there Ryan. You are becoming a master of this aspect - a madter of all aspects actually! I must try that Tamiya panel liner some day.

Cheers

I am not sure about the huge jig, but your progress on the interior woodwork is actually amazing. And in my opinion it is worth to accentuate shadows and lights a little more in a fuselage which is later on dark and barely visible. So no overdone washings here as far as it gets to my personal taste.
Best regards

Thanks everyone.

The Tamiya liner is enamel based and dries relatively fast. Once dry it can be brought back to life with thinner to correct and refine the effect, great product.

Superb results with the final treatment of the wood effect Ryan. The wash and panel liner are very impressive and I really like the effect you've achieved here. I have the grey version of the Tamiya panel line accent color and will be getting a bottle of the brown to try your technique. Nicely done!
Cheers,
Lance

Thanks Lance, they have (2) browns a regular light brown and the dark one you see here.

I wish they also had a dark grey that would come in handy on some finishes.

Ryan,
Yes, the grey is quite light, I think it's meant for accent work on armor such as drab or green finishes. Thanks for the info, I didn't realize there were two different brown versions of the stuff.
I'm curious about that new Jig, where are the magnets you refer to? Do the wing tips get clamped with the wingnuts and screws or are they secured by the magnets? ???
Cheers,
Lance
