This is really superb Ryan. I have just looked in at Lance's build of the same model and I do not wish to compare, merely contrast, as both are wonderful models. It is interesting to look at how different modellers aprroach their subjects in very different ways and achieve remarkable results.

This evenings update installs the compass and fuel panel, once this dries I can place the fuel tank bulkhead and then the joystick and rudder assembly.

Hmmm. Just tryed that panel liner by Tamiya. That was over well dried and gloss sealed oils and it dissolved the underlying paint in some patches. Perhaps where I had missed a bit of sealing of the oils? I will use with more caution from now on and triple seal before applying.

What was base coat, then what clear?


My method was this:

1. Tamiya Primer
2. Vajello Wood Color
3. Wood Streaking with oils.
4. Clear coat consisting of Tamiya Clear Yellow and Orange.

I'm sorry you are having trouble, I will say the Tam panel liner is a a bit strong...meaning against an oderless thinner/ oil wash.

Maybe I should you a tutorial.
