Thank you both, Alistair and Dave, I much value your encouragement. Presently I'm fretting a bit over the addition of the turtle deck and forward top cowling with the Vickers guns; I'm a little out of sequence with the Plans Booklet as I've tried to keep the smaller pieces until the end and getting that small forward cowling (Part A40 of the Kit) over the guns and in place properly with the larger turtle deck component is going to be a bit of a "lip biter"!
Cheers,
Lance

Thank you Guy, it's my first adventure into the darker type of wood finish and I'm pleased with the result.
Cheers,
Lance

Beautiful paintwork Lance, especially the wood work. Another medal winner in the making here.

Great build, I like the inside work as well as the exterior details. The little extras make the model shine.

Beautifully painted Lance! Your decal work gives me hope that perhaps when I get to my Camel all will be well with the roundels!

Thanks Rick. The decals seem to be hit and miss; out of character for me I've had no problems with this, my second Camel ...... both Decal Sets have been up to the high standards normal for Wingnut Wings.
Cheers,
Lance

I've made a bit more progress on this project, some smaller details completed and the fuselage is decalled, sealed, and ready for the black portions to be sprayed.
The plans indicate that the aileron pulley inspection panels on each of the four outer wing sections were painted over, the center upper wing section aileron balance cable inspection door was left clear. Here's the upper:

Then the lower......

and the upper wing center section:

The fuselage fabric sections were given 5 coats of Future to provide a good gloss base for the decals and after a 24 hour period for drying the markings were applied. These decals performed like the wing ones, exceptionally well.

In between coats of Future I also completed the pair of Vickers. I've used the Kit Guns with the muzzles drilled to receive 0.5 mm brass tube barrels.

The wood and metal fuselage panels at the forward end have been given an application of AK Interactive chipping compound and will be over sprayed with black acrylic later today. The assembly stage is really getting close.........
Cheers,
Lance

Smooth finish looks great!  Did you apply the Future by bristle brush or airbrush?

It's looking great, especially the inspection panels are wonderful!

Thanks for the nice comments Guys.
Gaz, I use a flat, soft, hand brush for Future. It always looks a little "patchy' until about coat number 3, then it levels to a high gloss and mirror like finish. A word of caution though, you have to resist the urge to go back over it during application as it will cure very quickly and show brush marks  therefore needing extra coats to smooth out.
Cheers,
Lance

Brilliant work all 'round, Lance!  Love the brass work and inspection panels.
