funny thing has happened. I just REALLY LOOKED at the WNW paint suggestions and Noticed they call for PC 12 on the Fabric surfaces. I have posted this question on the Camo and Markings section: All input is appreciated:

A small verbal update with pictures soon, maybe this evening $:-\$
The Albatros: I have added some variations to the wood panels using future and Tamiya clear orange. I still need to add just a little more variation. I also have painted the tail feathers in Jasta 6 black and white stripes.

The Snipe: I have masked the 2" turnarounds on the lower wing surfaces and am ready to paint the CDL. I am still in limbo as to what my final shade of PC 10 will look like

Here are the Pictures I promised yesterday: Camera Batteries needed recharging.
Albatros: Jasta 6 Tail Feathers and Lozenge on 1/2 of the rudder. Aviattic 5 color.
Snipe: Unders painted in Tamiya Deck Tan. The bottom wing will have just a little see through going where oil seeped in internally.

Next up Post shading the wings of the Snipe and Applying Lozenge to Albatros Wings.

Absolutely sweet colors. As I said before your a painting ace. You always produce the colors I have in mind, but am not able to obtain. The Alby is so magnificent to look at. Well done my friend!

I really like your subtle wood tone on the Alby fuselage Rick.

Reminds me of Brad Cancian's Voss D.III build. How did you achieve that finish? Tail feathers look very sharp as well! Great work.

Looking good Rick. The Albatros fuselage is just the colour I would picture an Albatros.

You'll be overtaking me with the Snipe soon too and I don't have an Albatros to worry about!

I will do a Thanks to all post here. I really appreciate those following my builds! As for the Wood, remember I am a LESS is BEST person. I don't subscribe to showing too much GRAIN and or very heavy panel weathering showing strong lines. Here is the simple formula mentioned earlier:
The Wood tones are what I normally do on Albatros Models, Polyscale CDL, Raw Sienna, then a mix of raw and burnt sienna. Blended and brushed together. It is really that simple! I then did something new for me adding just a touch of Tamiya Clear Orange on the panel lines and covering a couple of complete panels. Next is a clear coat of Kleer with Future shine. By the way, someone mentioned my painting and Brad Cancians DIII Voss build in the same sentence. That is a first for me and Very complimentary! I think Brads DIII was his finest work on wood grain( perhaps a resin 2 seater Albatros? comes close) so I truly feel honored by the comment!!

Got to compliment you on the incredibly good "woodwork", it's spectacular. Nice scheme as well. You've got a couple more winners underway again.

I have made very little progress since my last update.(Work and Family). I have completed applying the Aviattic Lozenge to the lower wing surfaces. On my past builds I got the Pre Shading too ligh and it disappesred. On this one I may have gone too far the other way. That being said I think it will be OK once pink rib tapes are applied, along with crosses and some dirt and oilo on the lower wing:

Rick, thanks for the explanation of your technique for the woodwork on the Albatros.
Excellent ideas and the proof is in the pudding. Beautiful job! I don't think you have
overdone the shading on the wings. Still early stages. I would think that it will look
pretty much perfect when you are finished.
