Looking forward to seeing how this (great looking) pre-shading looks when the decals go on.  I have some Aviattic lozenge too, so I watch with interest!

Thanks Ian. I am getting ready to post some pictures of the lower Lozenge. You will see that I found I had been TOO SUBTLE ! Did not account for the width of the rib tape on the cookie cutter sheet, so not much shows although it is there. I went ahead with both the upper and lower wing undersurfaces for consistency. I then went back and got a LOT bolder with my method for the upper surfaces. We will see how that goes tomorrow or in a couple of days.

Awesome preshading technique, amigo!  Gonna have to give that one a try.  What's the drying time on the oils?
Cheers,
Bud

Here are pictures of the lower lozenge. Too subtle on the shading so I changed to a less conservative approach for the uppers.

Hello Rick,

Looking really fantastic. I must admit that at first I didn't like that much the lozenge, but now after seeing what you all do with that I must say I like it more and more. Your doing a great job Rick. Many congratulations and I look forward to see new pictures.

Kind regards
Patrick

I think you have it right with the upper wing shading, Rick.  The lower
was very good but kind of lost when the lozenge went on.  I think the top will
look just the ticket when all is said and done.  Do you plan on darkening
the lower shadows any more, or leave as is?
Needless to say your build is very enjoyable to follow.  Well done, my friend.

Cheers,
Ernie :)

Oh my, Rick!  Now that is lovely!  The lozenge looks so good with the yellow.  She's really coming together, now.
Cheers,
Bud

Great Rick,

The lozenge is perfect! I think you've nailed just the right amount of pre shading - not an easy thing to do!

Cheers

Rick, you have certainly succeeded in getting a great effect with your pre-shading and the lozenge.  I like it very much.

Hello Rick:  The preshading really shows up well on the upper wing and enhances the decal.  Good on yer mate and thanks for the tips.  Looking forward to the next update.

Best

Rick,

This is an outstanding build.  The complicated decaling and painting job you have done is truly amazing.
