WNW Fokker DVIIF: Erich Lowenhardt, Jasta 10
« on: October 09, 2013, 12:23:15 PM »
I am now working on the WNW Fokker DVIIF. The scheme will be Erich Lowenhardts DVIIF. As Greg van Wyngarden Termed it, this is a reconstruction based on eye witness accounts. I will be using Avaittics Decals for the Wing and reversed interior Lozenge.

Great stuff Rick ;D

You can't have enough Fokker builds! The yellow should lend itself nicely to some subtle weathering..

I wasn't going to post until later when I had time to properly set up better lighting. I changed my mind after my FIRST use of the Aviattic's Reversed Lozenge decals! These are the first of this Newer Transparent type of decal I have used. I have seen photos, read accounts of their use, etc. but I didn't really understand until I wet the decal and slid it off of the paper! WOW! One thing I now know, I will have to be VERY subtle when doing preshading of the wings. I will take more photos in better light later.

Thanks Kevin. Just a little more about my experience with these. I was warned by my Friend Ira Campbell that these were Pre- Production versions, ( Not on the Final Paper), and that I would be literally peeling them off. Well, the truth is they slid right off of the paper backing and were VERY easy to move around and position. I couldn't be more pleased  :) IMHO the texture is perfect!

PS: I forgot to thank all of you who responded with encouragement and well wishes for my build. THANK YOU!

The decals are really something, Rick.  I don't think you could ask
for a more realistic look.  Carry on with the great work!

Cheers,
Ernie :)

You are just motoring along Rick. Are the interior bits just press-fit? Will you add the rigging to the interior?
Those decals are just the bomb. I can see selling off some stash just to add some funding towards decals like these.
