Looks great Rick!

Thanks Bo! I can't say enough about the Aviattic Decals! They are great to work with  and the colors are spot on.
RAGIII

really!

the wings pop up from the screen!!

Thanks! I appreciate your following my build.
RAGIII

  Rick,
Man do I love your lozenge decal work. Keep up the first class works my old friend.
Highest Regards,
Gregory Jouette

Thanks Gregory! I always appreciate you looking in on my builds and your comments!

Rick this model looks really great.  One of the reasons I like the German offerings is for the interesting colour variations and this is a prime example...

Ian, I agree completely about the schemes! Yellow and Lozenge seem to make a particularly nice combination  :)

Looks really great Rick!  I love yellow schemes, and you have nailed ths one.

Your airframe appears to sit level and well on the landing gear. I put the top wing on first, and I am having trouble getting my bird to st level.  Should have followed the directions like you! ;)  Maybe the rigging will help level her up.  ;D.  As you know, the scale thickness of the struts make them somewhat fragile.

I'm looking forward to seeing your bird with its top wing in place!

Regards,

Bob

Bob, First thanks for the compliment! Second....
I know what you mean by the struts being scale and fragile! I came very close to breaking an N strut on my first DVII build. As for the "Following Directions thing" that doesn't always work! On my first build I miss located the Struts from the gear that butt up against the Tripod struts. While attempting to fix/take off the gear, I broke the right front Landing gear strut. My DVII sits just a tad cock eyed and there is a very slight repair noticeable if one looks closely  :-[

Repair or no repair, your Fritz Friedrich Fokker looks very good. I think she is a nice companion to Löwenhardt's all yellow Fokker.

Despite what you say about repairs, this is a great piece of work RAG. I guess we all have our mishaps and are so close to the model being made that we are aware of blemishes and problems that others may never even notice. Woods and trees?

Best wishes

Hi Rick,

Absolutely marvellous bird. No repairs to be seen (tell me about struts, remember the SE5a). You did such a wonderful job. Great Rick!

Kind regards
Patrick

What repairs, Rick?  All I see is a beautiful model.  The two D.VII's
will look amazing together.  That, I'm waiting to see.  Keep up the
good work, my friend.

Cheers,
Ernie :)

Thanks for all of the compliments on my first Fokker build! I have found the photo that shows the repair, actually on the Left front strut, not right! I am plugging along on the current build. Now doing some touch up, and finesse work on the wings before mounting the upper to the fuselage. Pictures later in the week, or so I hope!

Hello Rick:

This is a tough bird to get to sit level.  On my first I did it after 5 attempts.  On the second it took three.  It is a very neat aircraft and you did a great job on this one.  I am starting on number three.  Maybe I will get the thing to sit level the first go around.  Outstanding work my friend.

Best

I would echo the comments on getting the landing gear level on this kit - really tricky for some reason. I am in the same boat that hoping the rigging will true it up (and strengthen it - very wobbly right now)

Mark, again you are correct! My current build seems to vary from one sitting ( Literally) to the next  ???

Yes a wobbly gear at best!
RAGIII

Just as a small update I have Mounted the upper wing with little or no difficulty! I mounted the Tripod struts to the fuselage and the rear cabanes to the upper wing. I then attached the wing using liquid cement. When this had begun to set up I inserted the N Interplane Struts. Now all that is left is the many areas to be touched up, lift handles ,wind screen, and the rigging. I will post some pictures later.
