You are making excellent progress Antonio, nice work on the windscreen and the tail rigging looks superb, well done.

I'll echo the other comments. The tail rigging is very nice and your windscreen fabrication is quite clever. I'll have to remember your technique. I'm also looking forward to seeing how she looks with the upper wing attached.

It's really looking good, Antonio!  You did a great job on the windscreen, as
well as the new tail skid and leather around the cockpit.  Tedious work making
the turnbuckles and rigging, but you are making really good progress.
I look forward to the next update.

Cheers,
Ernie :)

Thanks everybody guys, I enjoyed a lot last session, unfortunately I can't dedicate continuing time to the build.
Well next step will be placing the buckles beneath the upper wing and then setting it in place.

As you have noticed I often had problems in making the cabane struts and the height of the wing struts match, therefore this time i decided to follow a different process:

First of all I glued the cabane struts, then I will lay the upper wing on them holding it with a sort of jig you will see

Then I will not use the struts supplied with the kit  because they are a unique zig zag moulded piece.

I will cut apart the three pieces and set them in place starting from the outermost and if they will not be long enough I will build them from scratch.

Last thing will be rigging the wings.

Ciao

Antonio

Progresses slower than usual,
I succeeed in putting the upper wing in place using two jigs which costed about 15 Euro cent each...

:-D

then I glued the cabane struts while the coin piles were holding the wing at a correct distance.

I started fixing the rigging cables to the hand made buckles and eyelets, many of them broke because the electric wire was too thin.
When fixing the turnbuckle back to the undersurface of the wing (at direct contact with the plastic) they lost their movement to appear aligned with the other end and the final effect is not good (as you can see).

That is in any way a good experience becauseI tested my capability of doing such small things and also the scarce properties of the materials I used (I already imagined that but it was the thinnest wire I was able to find.
It was good for anchoring the EZ wire but was too weak to keep the buckle anchored to the plastic wing.

So yesterday evening I finished fixing all the inter-wing rigging and put in place the outmost struts (scratch built), then I scratch built also the middle struts which will go in place during this week.

I am confident next weekend I'll be able to build the undercarriage (pieces are already painted and weathered) and close the job by placing the propeller.

Below are some shots of the current state of the art:

Excellent work on the struts/upper wing placement, Antonio!  Your aeroplane is
really looking wonderful.  All your hard work is paying off...much more than €60! ;) ;D
I'm anxious to see your next update.

Cheers,
Ernie :)

Brilliant work, Antonio!  Once again, your coin jigs do the job.  She's really looking like an SVA5 now.
Cheers,
Bud

I must say that i realy enjoy your model Antonio.

It's perfect, very nice colours, wood and metal effect and nicely done rigging. All that in a beautiful scheme as that... it's a gorgeous model.

Belissimo.

Rick, my wife is OK now she's at home and taking therapy recovering constantly and walking a lot, in the evening we have such long walks together as we stopped doing since years...
Moreover she stooped smoking and this is another positive side effect!

Thanks
