Rick , you did a really excellent job on your pilot . I couldn't even come close . Sad to hear about him not fitting , but glad that you found a solution . I also really like how your cockpit is turning out , very nice wood tones  :)

Hi Rick, your cockpit looks very good.  I think the wicker seat is especially realistic.
If others have used the pilot figure successfully, they must have altered it to make it fit.  I have had to alter every pilot figure I have put in a cockpit - cut off arms and legs and reattach in a different position, etc.

Thanks Ken. I don't think it normally requires any alteration. The bottom of the figure fit perfectly in the seat and the feet rested on the rudder bar as designed. The shoulders were a fraction too wide and I think it was that I failed to seat the arms properly, or had the Torso not quite right.   :(

Fantastic work on the innards, Amigo!  She's shaping up beautifully.
Cheers,
Bud

Wot Bud has written: the cockpit looks superb. I just envy you modellers who seem to be able to get the colours right to make plastic look like metal, wood, leather etc. Shame about the pilot Rick but here's hoping that the standing figure will look as good when you are finished.

Stephen.

The latest progress. The figure is on order from Copperstate and I have added all of the interior wiring. Stretched Sprue and turnbuckles from white glue and paint..

Very nice work, Rick. You have managed the interior really good. I am totally struggling with this kit, espacially the internal rigging.

Thanks Manni! I used the stretched sprue to simplify things. Most of it will never be seen again once the fuselage is joined and the upper decking is in place. I also tend to spend a lot of time just looking at things and planning My approach. Most of the time that works out well.

Some progress. This is why We take photos during construction! Fuselage is glued together and upper cowl parts "Placed" in position! Not much to see once all is in place!

It may have disappeared Rick, but it looked good when we could see it! Personally I think the strip-down approach is the best - then it can be seen!
