Great progress Rick, I'm very much looking forward to seeing the finished model. I get the impression it won't be a long wait.

Certainly making excellent progress with this one rick. As for the WNW SE I would follow Richard's suggestion too - after a couple of weeks you will have completely forgotten about it!

Getting primer on always makes the model look so much more finished... not that strange really, I suppose, but to me it the change is greater than just colour... can't really explain it though.

Looks good anyway!

I miss this by 3 weeks and suddenly there's an Se5a nearly done!!  Nice work on this one

Steve

Thanks Steve. Still a long way to go  8)

I think the excellent priming shows all the fine details very well.

I'm sure this SE5a is going to look equally great to all the other models you've done Rick!

Looking forward to the end result.

Willem

Thanks Willem. I have just done what I hope is the final priming coat.

Thanks Richie. I am getting close to the painting  stage but can't proceed until I receive the Strippers from Bob  8)

Yes Fredrik, once any kind of paint goes on the Model starts to look more lifelike!

Thanks for commenting. I have had two more minor filling and sanding sessions since the last post. I do lose a small amount of detail but hopefully strategic rib tapes and painting will bring it back.

Not a lot done since last time but I think the filling and sanding is finally done. I have applied the final primer so it doesn't look much different than the last update. I have also worked on the resin prop blades and spinner. Next is adding a few subtle wrinkles to the fuselage fabric.

Thanks Alexis. Great to see you back and posting! I have made some progress. I added the subtle wrinkles using a CHEAP acrylic paint from Wal Mart. I did the final priming and then sprayed the upper surfaces with a mix of Tamiya Khaki Drab, Olive Drab, and a touch of Hull red. It looks brownish in some lighting and greenish in others. Perfect for My thoughts on PC 10. Once I receive My strippers I will go back and do some shading and more paint work on the PC 10.

your wrinkles look great (not often you can say that and get away with it  :D )

What's the technique if you don't mind me asking?

Nice wrinkles Rick, was looking at SE5a photos and wondering how to create them only a few days ago. I really like your PC10 colour, Raymond Collishaw described his Tripelane as being dark green, Cecil Lewis described his SE5 as being chocolate brown. Your mix could easily be described as both by different people. Must be pretty much spot on.

WOW, with that big spinner and four-bladed prop and the square chin, is anybody else thinking of a Hawker Typhoon?
Great stuff!
