Also thanks on My part Pete. This is one of the Great things about the Forum. Always someone around with knowledge and good reference! I also agree about Mike's builds. I have sanded off the raised edge and filled the opening prior to making My own hatch  ;D

The possibly circular thing also looks like a possible air scoop thing

Thanks for your input Richard ! I have gone ahead with making My underside closer to the WNW version:

WNW:

and the start of My Roden fix:

Still some tweaking to do  8)

PS: It is a Damn shame that the seam on the WNW build appeared back over time  :( I may have to try to fix that someday!

Nah, turn it over and put it back in the case. Life's too short for fixing models

Lol, that's one way to fix it. Those types of seams are notoriously difficult to eradicate. I usually skin them with 5 or 10 thou plastic sheet with the fuselage frames embossed in.

I have actually done some different  techniques to help permanently eliminate the seam since the WNW SE5a build. In the Meantime Richards suggestion works  8)

Good fix on the underside, Rick!

It's all these little details that make a difference to the completed article.

Today I primed the airframe and wings with a Tamiya grey. One more filling and sanding session needed on the top of the upper wing surface and the bottom of the lower wing where the triangular cutouts were filled.

I think the excellent priming shows all the fine details very well.

I'm sure this SE5a is going to look equally great to all the other models you've done Rick!

Looking forward to the end result.
