Lance, I'll post some close ups of the magnets and clamps so you can see the set up.

The wood effects that you have achieved are stunning. In this scale the grain would be visible - you have got the right tones and lines with amazing clarity.

Stephen.

Thanks Stephen, I will admit I have scale wood fatigue right now and am excited to close it up!

Lance here are some close ups of how the jig secures the model in place. High powered magnets are embedded in the clamps.

We will see how good it works, I do wonder about the spongy hold the unit has since there is foam pads on the clamping surfaces. Having said that the rear clamp on the Albatros is stuck tight!

Hello I started scraping and cleaning out the grooves for the internal structures...the warnings are all true, they wont fit if there is paint in the groove!

Its additionally stressful as the finish is so fragile, one jump of the scraper and well you know tragedy.

Anyway here is the shot, I should have a lot of time over the next few days to get a lot more done.

Man this area of the build was very tedious in getting the seat and support rods set.

After hollowing out the holes in rear bulkhead the unpainted rods were inserted and glued.

I made the choice to just brush paint the rod and seat mounting bracket once they were glued up and dry. (bracket not shown and was installed later)

Thanks guy, here is another update.

I have a 50/50 success rate with PE seat belts, what was an enjoyable painting session turned ugly real fast. After brush painting the shoulder belts, I set them and proceeded to the lap belts.
This is when it went south.....a delicate finish and some misplaced super glue was the chain reaction that ended up in a ruined seat and lap belt.

Plan B involves a replacing the seat and some HGW belts. To remove the seat and rear mount I had to clip things apart, good news I saved the wood grain pieces, the pics show the story...btw I also finished playing around with the detail painting of the forward bulked.

This post is not all bad news I did wrap up the fule tank and ammo drums and set them in place.

My last shot is of the assembly in the jig, the highlighting of the MG supports looks great in shadow.

Build is still moving forward, I'll have the seat sorted out soon.

Unlucky with the seat.
The belts look salvageable, no?

Fuel tank area looks excellent!

Thanks Dawg, the lap belt is pretty gummed up with SG, so no. Even if I could start over I hate working with PE seatbelts.
Probably should have test fit more and even glued the unpainted belts to an unpainted seat, then paint all as one assembly. Thats my normal process.
