Oops, where is my post from yesterday? Antonio I have forgotten to click on post after Preview :( So I try it again:

Those short run kits needs some special attention to get a nice model from it, but you seems to fight a good battle against the shortcomings of that kit.
Keep on fighting!

Cheers,
Frank

This is making wonderful progress. The Breguet is such an elegant aircraft and you are doing a great job to show her beauty.

I'm glad to start again this WIP that was frozen to build the three 1/144 Hanriots to participate to a WW1 campaign on the other (Italian) forum I follow.

Before stopping I had started painting the tail planes.
During this weekend I have completed painting and put on some decals and other tiny details.

It was not easy to obtain colours as close as possible to the cocardes I will use on the wings (I have the Blue Rider BR503 WW1 French Escadrille leaflet).

The blue was made this way:

1. Base Mrkit FC14 Blue Cocardes
2. I have lightened it mixing a few drops of Vallejo Panzer aces 313 Stencil (same colour I used for the white band and I always use as off-white)
3. I slightly dimmed the brighteness with few drops of Tamiya XF20 Medium Grey
4. THen slightly turned the tone towards purple dropping some Lifecolor "Dinosaur Brown", a dark red I used to paint the hull (the submerged part) of the fishing boats I used to build. It was about 20 years ago! The colour is still alive and kicking!

For the red and I mixed 50% of Lifecolor "Dinosaur Brown" and 50% of Mr.Kit IT06 Flag Red

THe control horns are scratch built and painted.

In the two detail photos are the Gaspatch one end type eyelets I will use for the rigging that will go across the vertical tail.

Thanks for watching!

Hallo friens,
first of all I apologize for not posting anything for such a long time, many other engagements kept me away from the workbench, but I did not remain totally idle.
Yesterday I completed the paintwork on the wings:

before that I studied a lot the rigging schema and decided to make anchor points from scratch for the main rigging between the struts and also made control horns for the top wings and other tiny pieces I did not photographed, you'll see them when I'll put them in place.
For the remainder of the rigging I will use the Gaspatch one end type eyelets and there are a lot to glue in the wings. For the time being I just drilled the holes.

Hallo friends.
Yesterday I found some energy to complete the work on the wings.
Here are some pictures.
The pictures look a bit over-saturated  because I took them with a low light and had to balance the white (my GIMP sw does not allow scaling the white intensity).
I also used the the cockades from the Blue Rider sheet, they were in good conditions, just one cockade broke (the break line is visible in one of the pics below) but I managed to make the halves meet. I also cut the roundels in two separating the part of the decal that should go on the aileron from the one that goes on the wing.

I also invented small pieces of plasticard with couples of holes to anchor the double threads crossing between the struts parallel to the trailing edge.
I decided to use eyelets to anchor the threads between corresponding front and back struts (parallel to the fuselage).

Top left wing top surface (this is the broken cockade, the break line is visible)

The halo around the roundel (it shows on all the 4 roundels) is due to the paint against the masking tape (I gave the wings many coats and it turned as a thick border I was not able to take away)

The "holes" on the ailerons will be used to let the control cables go to the control horns. I put there some rimming cutting the plastic external tube of an electric wire.

Thanks for watching
