Hallo,
just a "small" update, but it took a long time and a big amount of sweat in a 40ish °C heat...
the ring supporting the twin Lewis was 90% made from scratch.
It is made by two rings (lower wooden ring and upper iron ring).
The kit supplies just one ring and I used it painted in metal tone.
I had to made the lower one using a square section road (1 mm) that I curved to a circular-ish shape using hot water . But after a while it opened returning back towards its straight origins...
In the end I succeeded in gluing it in a closed form but it reminded more of an egg than of a circle, gluing the iron one on top it is sufficiently hidden.
The U shaped iron holder was made as well using a 0.75 diameter plastic rod that was bent to its shape and cut in the middle to glue it on the ring avoiding the straigthening tension.
The joint in the middle is a piece of rubber coating of a thin electric wire.
The two vertical elements standing on the metal circle were PE elements provided by the kit, but they did not have the holes and I drilled them.

I made myself (white plasticard elements) a joining piece and a small rod for keeping the barrels parallel (I think), that I saw in many pictures.
