So I should continue immediately with:

Upper wing


The upper side is taped ...



... and painted:



After painting the ribs with wood brown the bottom side is also masked:



With help of a floating mask ...



... I pianted the shadows of the crosses and lighten all up:

... and the upper side. My typical fault: a bit to much paint!



The tail skid is painted in wooden acrylic paints:



I cutted the control horns and soldered a 0,5mm pipe to them ...



... to hold later a Gaspatch tunrbuckle of typ "one end":



The control "wires" are prepared with brass tubes and turnbuckles, which is easier outside of the model.



Little progress for a lot of work!

Have you heard it? My jaw just dropped.
The shading on the wing is a stunner. One of the best I`ve seen!
I`ve never been able to paint good woodgrain with acrylics - the tail skid looks great.

Usually I used oils, but to save time I tried now acryls (I have a set "wooden colors) with a "wet pallette" with baking paper (german word: Nasspalette), works for me at least for small parts.

Wow, this little Experimental creates a great interest! Welcome to the show!
This is somehow a parallel build: I mean a century ago at this time the original was thought about and created. The first flight was in October 1917. I hope to finish sooner then October, may be already this weekend? Today I converted it from a biplane to a triplane! I was afraid, but I was able to manage that 8 struts find the matching  holes at the same time
