Got my shipping notice this morning, and am looking forward to following the tracking of the package. The fastest order came within five days to Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada where I live. The longest ...about two or three weeks when it got held up in Vancouver due to customs/postal receiving personnel shortages.
Cheers,
Gary

After the shipping notice of Dec. 1st I have just found my Albie in Polish Post tracking system - it apparently left Auckland in the morning of Dec. 3rd. Now the real countdown begins, recently it was taking 5 to 9 days before parcels appeared in Poland. Great, great, even though My Beloved will confiscate the kit until Christmas Eve.  ;)

I think it's funny PrzemoL gets his confiscated until Christmas.

Got my shipping notice and I hope I get mine before The Red Barron gets his.  :)

That is not funny, Steven!  ;)  But then, after all, this adds some more flavour to the otherwise great Christmas Day.

I think any kit under the Christmas tree is great and would make for a fantastic day.

As my decision-apparatus worked to slowly, I will have to get my Albatros later from the second batch. But: All my parcels from WnW to Germany took at least 4 weeks! One parcel even took 8 weeks and another one was even sent back to WnW! I don't know why.. But Dave at WnW was so generous and sent the parcel again - charging no shipping fees!! I guess it's the customs here in Germany that make it take so very long for the parcels to arrive where they really belong. Customs here work well: I always had to pay so far...

I do not expect to circumvent customs (VAT 23%) this time - the kit price is well over the limit. One may hope with those low-level-price WNW kits but not with two-seaters.
But it usually takes up to maximum two days to get an invitation to pay the ransom and pick up the parcel. What will take much more is the travel itself from NZ to PL.

Just curious, is the VAT charged when you purchase items from a non business such as a forum member?

Rick, if sending an item you have to fill the document stating its value (as far as I know you have to), then customs have the basis for their actions.

Another question. If one has to put in the Value does it make any difference if you check off the box stating it is a Gift? Or does that open another can of Worms?

Rick, as far as I know (when once at customs, I heard a discussion between a customer and a clerk), ticking "gift" option does not help. That guy was picking up a parcel sent to him from US with some true gifts and the sender put 100USD value in the declaration. The guy still had to pay 23% VAT for it, even though he did not buy it! This is at least as it is in Poland. Or better say, in my city - Poznan. I have already heard that the customs clerks in different offices all around our lovely country interpret the identical cases in different ways!!! :o
