VAT on second hand goods does not apply at least in the UK... I think.. lol. So items sent as gifts and not purchased should not be liable to tax.

also mine is on the way.
if we consider the price increase and the decrease in the exchange rate for the euro the price has doubled in one year, but I cannot wait for the second hit, when the shipping costs will be added :o

Not around here, at least... I was (without knowing) given a WnW D.VII as a gift, took nearly 2 months to get to the VAT/Import notice in The Netherlands because it was stuck in customs. It had only my address on it, but not my name, which was apparently what caused the delay. In the end I still had to pay 19% VAT and administrative fees for the Dutch Post service. :(

I've got my shipping notice today. And if it follows thesame procedure as usual for WnW shipments to the Netherlands I expect it to arrive in January. With the nice ransom to be paid as earlier mentioned. I expect around 40 euros of additional cost. And I'v tried labelling as gift or not, but that doesn't make any difference.

regards,
Ivo

My B.II has arrived and is currently waiting for a clearance signature. Since I sent it to my work address I won't be able to pick it up until Monday. But that is soon enough for me! :)

Meanwhile, New Zealand Post's asthmatic delivery donkey squints as it walks into the sunrise. Not far to go. Hang on, if the sun rises in the east, then...

So funny but so true  ???

The usual delivery time to me (500km away) is two weeks. On one occasion it was triple that.

I guess you'll need to move to LA! ;D
