Thanks, Everyone... :D

I sourced out some decals and found a numeral "11" which is just to liven up the markings a bit.  Since this isn't any particular plane, I think I'm safe with this scheme... ;)

I'll work on the interior, engines and start painting struts soon!

Cheers,

Dan

What a great build! I've just gone through the thread and I'm very impressed. I love the scheme you've chosen.

I somehow missed this until now, Dan; what an absolute beauty! The colours are spectacular, as is the construction detail, great work!

Thanks, Everyone!  Please excuse my tardy answer...I just got back from a medical and dental Global Brigade in Panama with several of my students.  So I've been out of the loop in very rural Panama!

Albi:  I like the Classic Planes kits.  They are generally good in fit (two sides are the same size etc.) and surface detail is good.  They are not as nice as Sierra kits but dang close.  The only Classic that was a bit dodgy was the Staaken transport as the surface detail was pretty rough.  I suspect this was either due to old molds or it was an early endeavor?  I have a DFW from them that is delicate and looks great.  This current AEG has some surface mold issues...almost like bubbles but I've sanded them out and it's going to be ok.

Tomorrow, I'll work more on the old girl.  I must say...I missed my hobby bench!  ::)

Cheers,

Dan

Wow! Dan you are really out-doing yourself with the AEG!  Your
paint work is first-rate.  Excellent choice of colours. Fantastic work,
my friend. :D

All,

I got some detail painting done as well as rib tapes and some weathering.  I'll do a bit of rigging and add cockpit edging, exhausts and then...put on the top wing!

Can't wait...Dan  ::) ::)

All,

Thanks for the encouraging words.  This guy is really coming along now.

I did a bit of work including making exhausts, cockpit edging, a bit of rigging and finally put on the top wing with the accompanying circus of struts.  It's all fine and strong as the proverbial ox.  What a machine this must have been.

I'll start putting on the bottom wings and struts tomorrow.  Rigging will soon follow!  :D :D

Thanks for looking,

Dan
