Thank you, everybody.

Stefan, the Spandaus are from the WNW kit elements only. And the question on Aviattic decals has already been answered  ;)

Richard, I read the instructions! I usually do. But I had some stupid imagination, that the CDL base will give more linen-like look...  :-[
Any way, the shading seems to be working fine but the work has paused now, because I have just collected the WNW BIG BOX and touching its sprues and sniffing the plastic was too tempting!!! :D

Nice work. The engine is looking good, and the springs add a great deal.

Really beautiful job on the engine. I wish I could get a hand on a 1/72 MAC D-VIa...maybe soon.

Thank you, Mike and Vincent.

In the recent days, besides planning the Felixstowe build and storage, I continued on this build.
The losenge decalling is now completed. Once again, thank you Richard for generous gift, it surely made this model look more realistic.

I have also painted and decalled the fuselage

I have tried to enliven the overall black with some paint scratches (wood brown or silver on metal bits), hardly visible in these poor shots, I hope to take better ones at later stages.
I will also add some wash to emphasize the surface details, but not on the black. Also the white areas on the tailplane and the rudder will get some shading along the ribs.

And the engine is not so pristine any more.

As always, Prez, your decal and paint work are extraordinary.  This is well on it's way to being a real show stopper.
Cheers,
Bud

Thank you, everybody, for your overly kind words!

And my Roland is slowly approaching the proud stage of a monoplane. Tail feathers ready shaded and cabled, lower wings attached, all the turnbuckles for the rigging done on the wing and the fuselage, undercarriage struts attached.
