LFG Roland D.VIa (1/32, Wingnut Wings)
« on: December 19, 2014, 06:06:52 AM »
Let me join the great company of Roland-builders with my thread. In the process of cleaning down the WNW kits stash to accept the just ordered W.12 and Felixstowe, I came to my last box - Roland D.VIa:

Some time ago I got a gift from Richard from Aviattic

which I am duly going to use (thanks, Richard, once more).

I will also use Łukasz's goodies from Taurus to detail 160hp Mercedes D.III.

I plan to build Kissenberth's black bird with Edelweiss.

In the recent days I managed to build the cockpit interior. To the kit I added the control lines and four cabane rigging lines, which I plan to lead all the way through the fuselage to the final ports. I have also added the fuel selector swiches and carb control rods. I would like to change the suggested sequence of assembly and postpone the engine mounting after the fuselage closing and painting, to avoid problems with masking. Here it is how it looks like for the moment.

Awesome cockpit work, as usual, Prez!  Really looking forward to watching this one come together.
Cheers,
Bud

Yes, seeing these Rolands come together sure have me thinking about doing one sooner rather than later.

I look forward to taking notes on this build!

Cheers from NYC,
Michael

Your doing it again Prze, another beauty. You are hard to keep up to, a blur of building and all top drawer! I'll be following and learning as usual.......

Beautiful cockpit, from where you take the time to build so fast?
Greetings.
