I'm really enjoying your build of the Harry Tate. Your interior woodwork, cockpit details, and interior wire rigging look great!  I'm sure it's hard for you to cover it all up.

The exhaust detail & weathering is absolutely outstanding.

It reminds me of Moskit's old metal exhausts, but at a far cheaper cost!

Thank's guy's  ;) ;)

Today, i did some work regarding the seam's where the two fuselage half's came together.

First, some taping, so i can get a nice thin line of putty.

For this i use Tamiya putty mixed with Revell Contacta Liquid, this micture give me some drying time room, and i can pin-point my putty to certain places.

After 15 minutes i remove all tape,

The putty on the fuselage needs to dry some time, so meanwhile i take a closer look at the bottom wing.

The Constantino pump has to be removed from the wing, so with the help of an improved electrical toothbrush this was done within five minutes.

After removal

Two panellines needed some attention after sanding, i think this will be the only two panellines that i will have to rescribe on the entire plane.:hmmm:

Ok, time to sand the putty on the fuselage, again, with the help of my electrical toothbrush.

The vertical fin on the bottom of the fuselage is allready glued.

The inner part of the bottom wing can be seen into the cockpit, so, some painting and a wash gave this a rather dirty appearance.

That's all for now.

Great work Danny. I've heard of the toothbrush, but haven't seen anyone use it yet until now. I must get one.

Coming together beautifully Danny. I have heard of the electric toothbrush idea, use one every day to clean my teeth but never thought to adapt it for sanding.

Great update, Danny!  The taping of the area to be puttied is a good
idea, which I will shamelessly steal and I'm sure my Wife won't miss
her electric toothbrush. ;) ;D  Looking forward to the next updates!

Cheers,

Hi guy's, first i wanna thank you all for the very kind word's, it's much appriciated. ;) ;)

For those who are intrested, here's a link to Youtube, how to modify a toothbrush into a sanding tool.

Well it's fairy simple, first i used Tamiya XF-9 rust as a base color. Then i used just Tamiya black for the soot arround the exhaust end's.
After that, i used different Tamiya wheatering sets, to achieve a wheatered look, this depent's on personal favour, so any wheatering set will do for this job.
At last i used some pigments, mostly MIG light pigment's like earth or dessert sand, to flatten the dark tone of the base color and soot color.
