Sorry Bud it is not about the cost, it is to compare the planes and tanks in same scale. It is also that you need more place for same quantity of models in the bigger scale. I load every construction sheet from WNW down for using modelbuilding.

Thanks, Lance! Glad to see I'm not alone. Didn't help that WNW ran the sprue gates through the pins. I just hacked 'em clean off. As to the comparison, there is none. WNW is in a league all it's own, as you already know. If it weren't for space issues and scarcity of types, I'd go exclusively WNW.

Oops! Sorry about the language mix-up, Martin. When I said "avoid at all cost", I should have said "make every effort to avoid". Nothing to do with money. I agree about needing more space for large scale. That's why I will continue to build mostly 1/48 scale, although the temptation is great.

Merci bien, Nigel! I know you're a quarter scaler, too, so I'll issue the same warning I issued to Martin. That is, if you have as large a 1/48 scale stash as I have.

Hi Bud, if you decide to do a single gun version, take note of the profile of the ridge along the top of the ammo box, onto which the gun mounts. The kit part has this ridge stepped, with the steps seemingly designed to fit snugly into the gap in the top cowling for the twin gun version. Using the single gun top cowling the stepped ridge will push the cowling up a little, resulting in fit issues. To get around this, I filed away the steps that support the twin guns. Don't file away the central step, as this slots into the top cowling for the single gun support. It is easier for you to check this out with the parts themselves. Try to place both top cowlings on top of the ammo box before any sanding, and you'll see what I mean.

Hi Bud:

Wow! Two at once. I agree with Bo that it is neat to see the two side by side for comparison and your running comments on the difference between the two. Per usual, you are doing outstanding work, clean, precise, with attention to detail. I like the glass on the pulseometer; nicely done. The leather work and wood tones are equally as nice.
I haven't built the Tripe yet but there are plenty of logs here to follow along. I know what you mean about space. It looks like you have even maxed out on space for 1/48th! Looking forward to your next update.

Sorry I've missed your build so far -I'm just catching up with what's going on.

Glad to see you finally taking on a larger scale (and a WNW kit to boot) at last - from what I see so far I have no doubt it will easily match (or even exceed) one of your superb 1/48 scale builds.

Good progress and looking good especially the wood effect - good luck on the rest of the build!
