The woodgrain looks great! So you are building both Snipe and Albie?
Best regards

Love the woodwork Rick, are you going for the pale yellow woodwork on the Albie?

Cheers

Pete.

Good grief, Rick...two at a time?  You are a modelling machine, my friend.
I'd be in serious trouble if I tried that.  End up with a Snipeatros or something
like that. ;) ;D  Enjoying your build(s) twice as much.  Heigh-ho!

Cheers,
Ernie :)

A dual build in 1/32 scale!?  I tip my hat to you, Amigo!  The closest I've ever come to that is my pair of 1/48 Halberstadts.  And they're still not finished.  However, I have confidence in you, my brother.  I know you can do it.  Your wood grain looks fantastic.
Cheers,
Bud

Hello Rick:

I like that honey  toned wood on the interiors for both models.  You are a brave soul to do at once!  As you say, takes twice as long; but you will have two outstanding models when you are done.  Looking forward to seeing you progress through the builds.

Best

Pete,
Yes the pale yellow lookis what I am after. In the past I have tended to get my Albatros interiors darker than the exterior so I am attempting to be more careful on this one. As for the Snipe, the fuselage is Honey toned and the side frames a little more sienna toned.
I think the contrast will look nice and hopefully be representative of the original. (WNW calls for a darker wood on the frames).

Thanks Ernie! As I said I am sure this will take twice as long but I owe my friend and US distributor for Aviattic a build using the 5 color joined Lozenge  ;D Didn't want to delay it any longer. Glad you are enjoying the builds!

Thanks Amigo! I think I have this planned and under control but if history is any indicator, one will/ may take the lead over the other  8) 8)

Here is a quick verbal update to be followed by pictures later:
I have painted and assembled the snipe cockpit interior. The rudder control cables were done with stretched sprue, the elevator controls with monofilament attached to the controls on the side using the provided parts drilled to accept the cables. The panel was painted wood using the usual technique. Side frame bracing wires are sprue. One note on the snipe interior, there are a lot of pins to line up when attaching the side frames.... be cautious and careful. The seat is painted with oils and the belts acrylics.

The Albatros is progressing just a tad more slowly. I have done some work to simulate the leather seat cover and painted the seat using oils. I have also used Aviattic 5 color lozenge on the frame behind the seat. Added som wrinkles using a base of Delta Ceramacoat. Also added Brittish interior green to the engine bay and some washes to the interior.

Thanks martin. The focus is good but there is a yellow cast.... not noticeable until one sees this:

Note the flesh is yellowed!

That's looking good, Rick.  The woodwork is looking particularly good.

That's a nice job on the pilot, though I can see what you mean by the yellow cast.

Cheers.

Dal.
