Excellent work Bud, your paintjob looks absolute stunning. How was the post-shading done, applying a darker color?

Many thanks, gentlemen!  Ro, the shading was done with black pastels, applied with a small, soft bristled, short chisel pointed brush.
Cheers,
Bud

You've done it again Bud, the shading is magnificent. My last build was both pre and post shaded, and in retrospect when I post shaded I realised that the Pre-Shading effect had added little to the end result thus I'm leaning towards skipping the step on my current Build and going directly to your pastel Post Shading technique; many Thanks for your original advice and "Mini Tutorial" a year or so back. Now all I have to do is get close to the results you illustrate here.............. ???
Cheers,
Lance

Hello Bud:

You are a brave soul with the post shading on decals!!!  It really looks the business Bud, great job and I have to agree, the dirtied, oiled red and white scheme is neat looking and you are doing a great job on it.  Looking forward to seeing the completion.

Best

Thanks, guys!  Well, only 4 days since my last update and she's done.  In spite of the usual and expected Roden fit issues, this was really a fun build.  However, I think my next D.VII will be an Eduard.  Tomorrow I'll take some better photos in more natural lighting and post them in the completed section.  Thanks again for joining me on this brief but pleasant journey.  And thanks to Rowan for producing such magnificent decals!

Cheers,
Bud
