Thanks, guys! Sorry it took so long to get back to y'all, but I'm in the midst of the undersid lozenge and rib tapes and it takes some time.
Guns look really good, could you give a run down on how you used USCHI's / ie: total immersion or coats/ before assembly or ? ?
Ed
Hey, Amigo! You're probably winging your way toward Telford about now, if you're not already there. I immersed the parts in the solution and rolled them around in it until they were completely blackened. It didn't take long. I then rinsed and dried the parts and assembled them. Super easy.
Hello Bud:
I am not a big fan of the Red and White scheme, but you have really brought it to life with your shading techniques.
Best
Mark
Thanks for your kind words, Mark. I never much liked the red and white scheme, or any of the more colorful, flamboyant German schemes, either. They always seemed too festive. That is, until I saw the cover of Osprey's Jasta 18 book. The painting by Mark Postlethwaite depicts Monnington's ship looking downright bellicose with it's skull and crossbones, black edging and slightly grimy overall appearence. Then when I looked at the photo on page 97, I was sold. I think with a little weathering and shading, even the most garish of schemes can look respectably war-like.
Cheers,
Bud
