Here the air pump is attached in the cockpit.
.....something faint to see, the hole in the end cap.
From there, the pressure line runs via a shut-off valve to the Fueltank.

The next instrument in the Morane's cockpit was the altimeter.
Again, the kit part was not to my liking.
A plastic part with a casting ridge and a film as a dial.
Not so bad the kit-part, but it would have taken too much of my patience to build an altimeter usable for my project from this piece of plastic.

I made myself a new altimeter out of scrap plastic.
A ww1 cockpit decal from airscale and the clear part of a packaging were also used.
The kit part served me as a template.
Here I took the appropriate dimensions.
An original picture of the cockpit and various photos of a museum altimeter served me for detailing.

From these plastic sprues I filed myself two round bars of different thickness.
Here it was important that the thinner rod fit exactly into the thicker one.:

The next step:
Cut a narrow ring from the thicker round bar.
I used a resin saw for this.



The ring was reworked with file and sandpaper according to my mind.
Now a suitable part was punched out of the clear part of the packaging which was used as a glass pane.







The finished ring serves as a bezel for the altimeter housing.

The next step:

I used a resin saw for this.

The ring was reworked with file and sandpaper according to my mind.
Now a suitable part was punched out of the clear part of the packaging which was used as a glass pane.

  - and now comes the part when you have the outer casing of the altimeter and make the inner parts to make it functional. 

What you do is absolutely amazing Bertl, I'm speechless...

The thinner plastic rod is modeled into an altimeter housing using a needle file and grinding tool.



Here in the picture the cover on the housing.
The cover - or the bezel - is ground even smaller in the outer diameter.



The altimeter case has now been painted in Nato black.
A challenge was to place the decal exactly in the center of the housing.



The bezel was provided with small holes on the edge to indicate the screws.
It was painted with Mr. Metalcolor "brass

The altimeter was mounted on a wooden board in the original.
This wooden board itself was screwed on the left side in the front area of the cockpit.

The wooden board was made from a piece of waste plastic.
(there is a lot of Wingnut Wing waste plastic in the model) 



After the wooden board was fixed in the cockpit it was painted with Gunze "Radome".
I did the wood grain with oil paint.





The scratch built altimeter has not yet been installed in the model.
This was actually done towards the end of the build so that it could not be damaged.



Here is the only really meaningful picture of the cockpit that I found on the web.
The altimeter is very prominent here.

Well, the altimeter does not work - unfortunately    .... 
But the air pump can be moved 
And if you have patience, there is still an instrument coming which will be movable...... but more on that later
