Thank you for the generous comments, everyone. I do appreciate them and hope my work inspires others to try new things.
I have received the PART PE a week earlier than expected. Great service from Jadar Hobbies in Poland. I have found it has a few things I can use in the cockpit.
In the meantime, I worked a few other areas.
I have drilled some holes for engine panel cover fasteners. These are 1/4 turn fasteners to be represented by wire, flattened on one end (not pictured).

I also had this crazy idea that I could improve the engine cooling slats. I'll see how it turns out before deciding to use it or not. I turned a round jig on the lathe to make the back ring into a circular shape. Kit part on left.

Here, I've done the base painting on the fuse innards. The base CDL is Tamiya racing white, the wood grain is oil paints. I have added the bracing with phosphor bronze wire and brass tubes for turnbuckles. The turnbuckles are not fixed in place yet because I am working on some PE brackets from the PARTs kit, which will affect where the turnbuckles are located. The wood panels are decals included in the FFSMC decal sheet. They react well with setting solution and soften very quickly with Microsol, so I will have to be very careful with that with the other decal markings. The stringer detail on the bottom of the fuse behind the cockpit area is just scratches through the paint.

Now that I have the PE, there are a number of details to work on - safety harness, compass, throttle quadrant, etc.
Thanks for following along.
