Thanks, EBF and Dave.  The method of using Milliput for the cushion is somewhat messy, but the results are second to none.
A PE set comparable to those that PART makes would be a nice complimentary addition (if it included engine cooling slats).

Beautiful work! I've been eager to see this kit built and I love the extra work you're putting into it.

Great work, Ken - but I take my hat off to your seat cushion! I've tried milliput seats before, but they never look as good as this.

What a fine job you are doing here Brad. Beautiful detailing all along.

Nice work on the cooling slats and the cushion. Did you use a punch to make the imprints?

Thanks for the nice comments, folks.  The seat cushion has gotten a lot of comments, so I will post a tutorial on the method soon.

Breathtaking work Ken, so many incredibly fine details. I'm looking forward to the cushion making tutorial, it looks like a very comfortable place to perch!

The seat cushion tutorial is in the works, but in the meantime, here are some final pictures of the interior, a lot of which will not be very visible.

The white tabs will support the instrument shelf.  Some test fitting indicated the sides will need to be spread wider to accommodate the top and get flush sides.  May just be an issue with my model.

A couple more things to prep before the fuselage goes together.

I have put the engine covers on the fuse top.

And the tail skid with a PE part from PART.

That is the best SPAD cockpit ever! I like the turned oil filler ;)

Do you have a idea/solution for the cooling slots in the outer panels?

Cheers,
Frank

Thanks for stopping by, Rick, Alexis, Pup, and Frank.

I filled in a few details behind the pilot's seat as it appeared they may be visible from a certain angle.  A few cross braces and the canvas bag.  The curved cross braces are wire and the canvas bag is made from styrene and covered with a paper tissue, then painted with craft acrylic paint.

I haven't thought much about how to finish off the cooling louvers.  I've been focused on getting the interior done and closing up the fuselage.

Till next time.

Excellent work on the details Ken. The canvas bag looks great. Odd that Roden had it in the VII but left it out on this one. Your SPAD is looing Awesome!
