I have gone for one of each, my SPAD VII is brown, the XIII is grey

You can find both on preserved aeroplanes

Good work! However fun it is to follow the building process, this is when it really gets interesting - the painting stage! I have no idea about ecru though - hadn't heard it before today actually.

I truly admire your strong resolution to build three of these. And the results are just spectacular. Great effort, Rick.

Thanks Ken. Like I said I had a Minor Setback yesterday. I noticed that there was a scratch in the paint that looked odd. A little testing showed that the paint was not adhering. I was forced to strip all three(using just a soft cloth and rubbing) ! So I mixed a new batch of "Ecru" using Tamiya paint. I think I have matched this batch pretty well with the Booklet from Aviattic.  So two days lost but Today I will be back on track!

Very impressive, Rick! I have a couple of these birds in my "someday" pile. I too got the Aviattic Luke decals - no gun (I bought that separately), but I got the Frank Luke figure.

Thanks Bill, I appreciate the comment! So I am now back to where I was two Days ago. Both SPADS have had the New Tamiya Ecru Mix painted. One needs some touch up, scratched while handling too soon. Just to be sure I tried to remove more by rubbing and all seems safe  ::)
