Hi Rich,
I have the Osprey publication as well.
I can see your problem in trying to replicate the dragon emblem.
Printing might be your only method as the emblem is I think even too intricate at 1:32 scale to cut a mask.
Do you know of anyone with a colour laser printer?

I do not know of anyone at present. I can only hope Rowan of Pheon eventually gets his Camel Aces sheet released! Hopefully he is still on the Mend from his Illness!

One more thing about the Dragon. It was also included on the Sheet from Hobbycraft Camel kit #1685. I doubt the quality is good but if I could find the decals it might work as a Stop Gap measure until Pheons decals are available!

I was thinking about your printer ink running when coated and it really shouldn't do that if you don't puddle the coating over the ink. So maybe the issue is that the ink isn't bonding even minimally with the white painted surface you said you were printing on. If you can't build up a good coat with light misting, maybe try a different kind of white paint, that may be the issue.

Thanks again  for the suggestion. Like I said, I have used the printer before with No Major issues for making small decals that I needed. I will try a different white. I also have been offered assistance with this from Gene. Again pretty much a stop gap effort waiting for the Pheon Decals  8)

Hey, what you learn now will come in handy when you want markings Pheom doesn't make.

A SMALL step today. I painted the Stripes on the Rudder and Fin. Needs a bit of Tweaking but overall I am OK with the results.

Thanks Terri. I received the masks from Bob von Maskmaker  for the Letter "S" and bars yesterday so I will be planning how best to utilize them.

Looking great Rick, keep up the good work. Sadly my work space has been taken over while my better half works from home. In the meantime I shall keep following this with great interest and glean whatever tips I can.

It's all good, we have a desk coming and have made space elsewhere for it. I think I shall have plenty of time for model making over the coming weeks. Nice way to weather the storm I think! :)
