Thanks T. and thanks guys,

I use the WNW manual as reference and adjust accordingly...as much as possible. :-X

Had to place the window glass. The kit parts are clear and very acceptable.
I was afraid of glue and paint stains, so I removed all the paint from the frames and was very careful with the glue.

Phew!

Worked hard on the interior, but it's very time consuming. Slow progress....

So far, so good...I think. :)

What was a great interior looks even better after the washes and weathering!

Great work, Robin.  Your extra detailing in the interior adds to the model.

Thanks gentlemen!

Apart from placing the observer's seat and a spare ammo drum for the LMG 14/17...this side is done.
Other side still to do: windows, some handles and also a spare drum, so not much left to do on the inside.

More soon,

Robin  :)

Robin, with the open frames and all the additional work you converted this into a 1/48 WNW kit :o
Simply fantastic, I like it a lot!

Frank

Pfff....well...yes.
I worked on the pit with the WNW manual on screen. A blessing and a curse.
I copied as much as I could...made the auxiliary fuel tank, the bomb dropping handle, a new observer's chair and much more.
Partly because I liked it, but also because I sometimes thought...when I skip this or that...someone will notice and I'll be frowned upon.
That's stupid. :-\

I kept the blue-grey light...probably a lighter shade then used, but a pit is a dark dungeon when closed up. when it's a lighter shade...at least some of what I did will still be  visible....I hope.

Finished the interior...

And closed the fuselage...

I look forward to do the "outside".

More soon,

Robin

Thanks guys,

The final interior hurdle to take was placing the observer's seat (a bashed Dr.I seat).
Was done after closing the fuselage...scary, but it worked.
After that the top with the MG ring...was a good fit. Only minor filling and sanding needed.
Also made the two "skylight" windows with a grinding bit and Airscale bezels. This is the only scratchbuilding needed on the exterior.
Well...I can't think of anything else...uhmm...perhaps a bomb rack, but not sure about that yet.  ;D

The "forgotten" late version tail fin and rudder...

The kit designer put a lot of effort in this kit, but for some strange reason Eduard decided to not use it's full potential.
Stange and even a bit sad. All the parts needed to build a late version are included.

Now getting ready for the paint job.  :)

More soon, but again...busy time of the year for me started and that will continue until I can open a bottle of Champagne to welcome the new year.

Robin  :)
