With the Fokker D.VII done...time for a new build.....my first two-seater.

The Roland C.IIa...

It says C.II on the box, but it is a C.IIa.

I had a problem choosing a scheme...several options, but none I really like.
The Kasta 2 option with the black rudder is nice, but I don't like a shark mouth and I certainly don't like curtains painted on the windows. :-\
On the WNW website I found photos of a Kasta 2 lineup with a plane without either and no number on the rudder to make things easy.
This plane has a black rear fuselage... and a black rudder and fuselage band (like most Kasta 2 planes). 3 tone camouflage scheme. Light green, dark green and red brown.
Standard rudder, Orcarina exhaust.

This is a blown up part of the photo seen on WNW...I hope it's okey to show this.

Seems to be a very good kit, but I'll find something to modify for sure. ;D

Robin.

Here we go...sort of.

Tidied and cleaned my desk. :)

Okey...interesting start of a manual.
A 1/48 camera made of 7 parts...clear lens and a lot of PE parts. Errr....that can wait. :o

Impressive PE set. The observer's MG gets a lot of attention here. Very nice!

And an unexpected, but really cool surprice.
Sprue A, B, C, E and F. Uhhh....no D?

There it is! A late version rudder and tail...that's awesome.
Not mentioned in the manual. I might do a late Roland C.IIa instead. The "white 6" perhaps?

I have time to figure that out...interior first.

And there is work to do. ;D
At first glance:
Open the frames, new seats and some more additions and alterations. Nice!  :)

Btw...this will go a lot slower than the previous two builds.
Busy time of the year for me, so less bench time, so please bear with me. :-[

Anyway...more soon,

Robin

Two aeras to watch out for . The lower wing fit and the rear top part of the fuselage  ;)

It's a nice kit . Built it once and another which turned out to be a shelf queen and holding her own I might add .

Nice choice of livery Robin, something out of the ordinary.I like the way your workspace is organised, some good ideas I'm going to adopt.I presume the brandy assists the rigging process.
Cheers,
Dave.

Thanks,

Terri....thanks...I'll dry fit and double check!  :)

Ken...I love a good brandy....cognac, grappa, armagnac, etc.
In the dead of night, an espresso, a brandy and good music. That's when I love building models. All quiet, no distraction.

Sneak preview...

Opened the frames and gave the (late type) exhaust the love and attention it deserves. :)

More soon,

Robin

That looks to be a lovely kit: I have seen several made up in photos but never a real one. I will be very interested to follow allong.

Thanks all. :)

Opening the frames is like opening a can of worms.
Because of it, I have to change, add, make, alter...you name it...about everything. :o

It's a challenge to get the puzzle together and even more to make it structuraly sound.
But...getting there. :)
