Fokker DV.II F
« on: May 26, 2018, 05:18:20 PM »
With the taube having a slight accident at the hands of someone who has yet to understand the frailties of injection moulded styrene (ie, my 2 yo grandson), I've decided to put that to one side and get something else out of the stash and start a fresh.
Picked this now OOP kit up for 'normal' retail value not so long ago and have decided to thow a little extra AM at it....

Thanks to all the suppliers for providing what I need. Thanks too to Richard from Aviattic who felt that the underside lozenge pattern was a little too faded so sent me an extra sheet too. Class service indeed  8)

Plan to build Fokker D.VII F, 505/18, oOffz-Stv Wilhelm Hippert, Jasta 74, St.Loup-en-Champagne, September 1918 which is identified by its chequerboard fuselage and blue nose. As well as the updates for the BMW engine and magneto switches from Taurus, Gaspatch provide the MGs and some turnbuckles (1/48 scale for teh cockpit rigging), RB Models with some PE radiator faces and HGW with their excellent seatbelts. I'm also wanting to have a pilot to accompany the plane and this comes courtesy of elan13 Miniatures....

Not having much luck at the moment. Hobby shed was broken into over night and the ******s stole my airbrush and compressor, speaker system and my Nutter tool. Emptied the bin over the floor and used it to carry their loot out which also included, oddly enough, a contained of cotton buds????

Reported to Police and going through insurance claim now. Frustrating but nothing that can't easily be replaced but does mean that I'll have to put any painting on hold until I can get some replacement stuff  ::)

I agree completely! I hate thieves of any kind but Break ins leave a scar like no others. Perhaps you can just spend some quality time with that 2 year old while waiting for things to be replaced.

Oh Gary, that is very sad this is my absolute nightmare. To know someonewas in our house. I hope you will get well over this shock.

The kit and additional parts are really great. I can't wait to see your first steps on this beauty.

Oh Gary, sorry to read this, really you're going through a bad period.
Strangers breaking in your home should be a very hurting experience.
Although I agree with Rick about gaining quality time elsewhere I (we) will miss your great works for a (hopefully short) while.

Hugs

Antonio

Very nice start with that seat, Gary. I really like the look of the linnen decals over the seat.
