Radiator WIP....





Not visible in these pics is the lack of detail were the main water pipes connect to the rad. Not join connectors. Not an issue if you put the engine covers on, but if you want to show the engine off, you'll need to scratch some. That's my next task....

Babysitting our 2yo grandson over the next few days while his parents are on a short break in the South Island so limited modelling time for me. However, have taken advantage of his early night and fitted the radiator along with the flash guards....



I made the connectors between the water pipes and radiator from thin walled brass pipe and strips of aluminium...



Didn't notice it before, but somehow managed to knock of the coolant pipe for the intake manifold water jacket??!!  :-\ Knocked up another from copper rod and have left it unpainted as I think it looks better than the usual black. You can see it just below the flash guard in the 2nd photo.

Next up will be the Spandaus and plan on using these beauties this time round....

Managed to grab a little bench time this evening and fitted the MG mounting cradles and pipework (not sure what it's actuially for though?). Instructions said to paint everything either flat aluminium or green grey - I decided to add a splash of extra colour even though most of it will be covered eventually...

D.1 now has some teeth....









Finished with XF1 Flat Black, added a little light dust wash before using a small brush and some Gun Metal pigment to highlight the worn areas.

Love what you are doing, such a superb build.  I think you Junkers will look grand once you finish. Thank you so much for sharing your build.  i have splashed out on my first WNW kit of this Junkers and I'm so interested in what you are doing.  It would seem this build is as lovely as the raw plastic implies.  Those aftermarket guns sure good special and are right out there in the open with no upper wing to block the view. 

I am looking forward to what you tackle next.
