1:48 Fokker F.I
« on: January 03, 2018, 12:17:45 PM »
Hi all,

This is my first WIP here, and only my second bi (or tri) plane, so bear with me.

I'm building the model essentially out of box (plus a few household bits). The model will be either Kurt Wolff or Werner Voss' mount.
 I haven't decided yet.

I began with the cockpit, where I took some artistic license with color.

Here it is finished up, save for the central instrument bar. The harnesses are wine bottle foil painted black and with the hardware bits scratched off to the metallic layer.

More to come.

You're off to a great start with this build, what you have done so far looks very good, looking forward to following along.

Nice start so far. It'll be interesting to compare builds as I'm making Eduard's Dr.1 atm in the same scale.

Nicely done interior! I really like the way you did the metal seat belt harness fittings. Looking forward to your next update.

Thanks for the comments, guys.

Not much progress since last update, but I'm getting ready to prefit various struts. I noticed there are no locating holes for the fore-struts on the landing gear. I don't remember now if they were there and I obliterated them during sanding, or what.

To anybody who has the kit, can you take a photo of the fuselage bottom so I can see where I should drill holes for the struts?

Are you doing the Eduard kit? I have a couple and can check for you later this evening.

The slots are in the pe. Part pe21. At least that’s what’s in my unbuilt one...

This is a weekend edition, so no PE.

I’ll have a check too seeing I’m building the same kit

Apologies for the late response, but yes, I have the same findings! No holes, but PE does have spots for it to mount.
