Thanks, guys.

I was thinking of adding some very faint streaks of yellow ocher oil paint to tie everything together.

Getting ready for decals now. The stack of wings is just test fit. I toned down the green with a very misty spray of light blue, and added the white fields for the crosses.

A good brew and a good model. Life is good sometimes.

Given half a chance to paint something a bright color, I'll always take it. :)

There is already enough green and gray on my display shelves. Its one reason I took the plunge into WW I types.

This is why Godwin Brumowski's red D.III with yellow sworls is on my radar :)

That's the one. I just have to figure out how to make those little sworls in scale. I have to look at fine marker pens at the art store.

If I ever get to build a Fokker with streaking will you paint mine for me? This is really turning into a little beauty - excellent modelling.

Thanks!

But I'm afraid I might have overdone it with the washes and filters. The grooves on either side of the wingtapes have gotten a bit too dark and given the wings a zebra stripe appearance. It wasn't as apparent until after the flat coat went on, so now the color is sealed in there. Damn!

I think your streaking is fine. No,way to know now what they were actually like, and they varied from plane to plane since they were done by different people at the factory with a big paint brush.

My impression, done with oils:

Thanks. I guess its not so bad.

I'm almost ready to mount the top wing. Here is the upper decking almost done. I just need to add the flare rack, and attach the rigging lines to the fuselage. The lines on the landing gear are one. I really like how they look with those turnbuckles.
