Thanks, everyone!  Now here it is with the struts in...just sitting...along with the top wings just dry fitted.  Vintage WNW!  ;D ;)

Extra bonus...the first shot has my lovely 1:1 wife knitting in the background.  Nice weathering.  AND a salt shaker T-Rex.

I'll see if I can do some more painting/weathering tomorrow and see how far I can get.  Looking neat-o to me!

Interesting that the upper wings are set back compared to the lower.

Looks great as a biplane, even if only placed in position  :D

Thanks Des, Gary and Rick...tonight I got the wheels finished and installed, the rib tapes picked out a bit and the interplanes glued to the bottom wing.  It's hard to see, but I also added some semi-random patches with the base color to simulate fixed battle damage.  I'll show that more when it's done, though.

Tomorrow I'll do some final weathering and try to cement the top wing on for good!  We'll see.

Cheers,
Dan

Thanks, All.

I got back to this guy and am trying something new...adding salt to the top, giving it a light multiple color dusting and then removing salt.  Here is what it looks like now... :o :o :o

Wish me luck...!!!

Don't be too shocked, I was already there -- it just needs a good cleaning in fresh water!

It certainly has a worn look.

I think tat this certainly looks worn but I also think that you should follow Andreas' advice and clean it in fresh water: I am sure that you will be able to get a more realistic effect.
