Hello All...

I washed it off last night and scrubbed away and now that the salt is gone, it looks pretty cool.  If anything, the effect needs to be more pronounced.  I assumed then salt bits would cover the old paint color and as I misted over it with other shades, I'd get areas of different hues.  Maybe my oversprays needed to be thicker?  Anyway, I'll post another shot soon.  This just needs some more experimenting!

Cheers,
Dan

Here it is all washed and brushed off.  You can barely see the effect on the underside near the wheels.  I put lots of salt there and used multiple sprays of very dilute but browner tints.

Tomorrow I'll put the wing on and start rigging!  Light at the end of the tunnel now.  It's a really, really nice kit.

Cheers,
Dan

Very subtle, great job with the salt and subsequent work.

Outstanding painting and the weathering if pleasantly restrained!

Hello, All...

I'm back again after some paper models and other little things and trying to finish of this lovely Dolphin.  It's a delight and I got it almost all rigged and added the top wing.  A drop fit.

Should be able to basically finish this off this weekend.

Cheers,
Dan

Dan,
That is a sweet looking Dolphin!  Love the paint modulation.

Your rigging is looking excellent as does the overall finish! I only hope my effort is half as good as yours when I get to this stage.

Dan,
I really like the finish you've achieved here, really convincing. The salt technique is one I haven't tried, however this indicates it's time I should. Nicely done!
Cheers,
