Thanks Xan.
I read on the Albin Denis site and somewhere else (I don't remember exactly where, maybe on the Davilla / Soltan book) that the circle behind the rooster could have been light blue and the rooster black. I think nobody knows what the real colour was, therefore in this case I decided by myself and prefer red rooster on white background.
Should someone need a version of the emblem in different colours, just ask me and I'll repaint it in a few seconds.

Thanks again for the attention and appreciation!

Hi Andoni I loocked about BR117 and didn't find a lot of things...
the Albin Denis web site is indeed the most rich in informaiton...

about the interpretaiton of B&W pics you know...

anyway i would say as you white fot the backgroun it's quite evident.
for the coquerel it's impossible to know between back and red. i would have done as you red.

as you surely seen , whe have a breguet XIV insigna

personally I like it and you can be sure of the colors, but it it doesn't fit with this plane, more in this kind of decoration:

Anyway the type you choose seems acording to the Denis's pics more representative of the Br117's planes...

Merci beaucoup, xan...

yes, I had seen the golden coquerel on light blue background, but, as you say the white background is more likely for that plane (S/N 1333), the background is too light to be blue and the coq is too dark to be yellow...

So I will go as I stated in the posts above.

Do you have any idea about the colour of number 3?

Thanks again!

Antonio

Hallo everybody,
not a lot to show, but really a lot of work was done lately on the cockpit cage.

I had to carefully study the way to proceed to make all the details fit (it was difficult to me, so I share the step-by-step process I followed below, hoping it will be useful to those attempting the same kit in the future) and in the end this is the result:

First thing I cut from the two pieces holding the longitudinal bar on which the two control sticks are and put the bar in place with the sleeves, drilled to host the two sticks.

Second I made from plasticard the "floor" of the observer / gunner / 2nd pilot. The photo from the Harry Woodman article posted by Jamo

and the PE piece supplied by the kit

were not consistent, so I decided to make the floor myself and used the PE piece as back of the observer seat.
The cushion on which the observer placed his bottom is supplied as a resin piece by the kit.

Third: I placed the two footresting planks in front of the pilot

Fourth: I made the pedals from scratch (not liking the shape of the PE parts) and glued them in place

Fifth: I joined the two couples of pedals with cables (I tried to use EZ line but the tension needed to keep it straight was too much for the tiny point of glue holding the pedal bars in place)

Sixth: I made the foot holders with old PE remains

Now I have glued the pilot's seat and am working on the control columns.

I think it's enough for today!

Thanks for watching!

Antonio

Thanks Manni,
unfortunately due to real life engagements, it has become very hard to find time slots to sit t the workbench,  so (if possible) I am going slower than usual... :-(
But that's it and I must cope with it!

Hallo forum-mates!

I found just a couple of hours in the weekend to finish the cockpit, making the 2 control sticks and assemblying them to the cage, plus the pilot seat and seatbelts.

I also cut some "glass" panels to fit the two window holes, I used a thicker plastic, the acetate sheet provided by the kit is too thin.

Thanks for watching!
