Brilliant work on the innards, Zac!  Looking forward to more.

Thank you, gentlemen! I'm very humbled by all this praise coming from modellers whose work I've admired immensely. Thank you.

The fuselage is together! At least, the sides are in place with the cockpit between:

After this photo I did a little PSR on the spine to get rid of the seam - more work is required on the belly - and painted on one coat of Humbrol Matt Cote. This weekend the sides will get Gloss Cote followed by decals. I've also rigged the rear section of the fuselage to match one of Jamo's photos - the moulded-on wires just weren't enough for me. I'll try and get a photo of this area to share.

After decals on the fuselage I'm aiming to add the forward decking (already Matt Coted) and horizontal tail.

Thanks gents!

As promised, here's a couple of rather close-up photos of the rearmost fuselage rigging. Please excuse the CDL paint - this was a rough coat to check if my PSR had paid off (it had).

Yesterday I got off work early so spent a bit more time on the Pup. Part of this was dryfitting the turtledeck. The fit's not great for me so there's some investigation to be done before it goes on for good.

Looks good..

Just a little paint on mating surfaces is enough to throw WNW's engineering out and produce an unexpected fit problem. That's what I'd check first.

Thanks Matt. I'm wondering if it's the paint on the cabanes - I can press down on the piece to make the gaps go away, but it doesn't feel right and I'm loathe to use superglue in such a visible area.

Fantastic top decking, Zac!
Thanks Bud! It's my first experiment with PrzemoL's yellow base idea (I think it was him). I wasn't happy with my attempt at first but it's grown on me! I figured it would make a nice change due to the cockpit framing and struts all having an XF-59 base, just something to break up the monotony.

Zac,
From what I can see in the photo and having built this one I believe it's interference from the cabanes; enlarging their cutouts in the cowling a bit should help. It's coming along very nicely.
Cheers,
Lance

Hi Zac
Most of your photos seem to have disappeared...

Unfortunately Photobucket has decided to charge for the privilege of linking images, and I can't afford US$300 per year for that, so I'll take some fresh photos and then start fresh with Flickr.

I think I'll need to play around with Flickr's settings.

Great work. The wood effect is very convincing.

Excellent wood effect on the coaming! How are you doing with the fit?

Thanks guys!

I took Lance's suggestion and played around with the slots for the rear cabanes, after a few cuts and dry fits it was all good. Unfortunately some yellow on the underside got liquefied by the glue and came out so I'll need to do some touching-up....

...except my XF-62 has decided to lighten up on me. This was after some stirring and shaking. Very disappointing. I get paid fortnightly so the fuse will have to wait until I can get some more paint.
