If you hadn't told I would not have noticed!
Still looking for the repair patch, but I can't find it, so good job on that! :) I like the lozenge struts, too.

Very generous offer on the decals, too -hopefully it'll inspire someone to build one too. (not me, I love the work you're putting in it, but I'm not a fan of the machine itself!)

Jeroen
Thanks Jeroen
Actually I’ve repaired the repair patch  :)
If you look at the trailing edge of the tail a couple of posts back and then look at the same place on my last post you should see it.

Lots of fun starting to do the rigging and fitting the top wing. I used Gaspatch turnbuckles and using EZ line for the rigging.

Trying to get the top wing to align has bought up an issue that the main struts are too tall so have to be cut down.

The smaller struts by the cockpit are too short so I cut off the originals and have added some new longer ones.

Also, the larger inner wing struts that go on to the fuselage don't fit well so I've enlarged the holes in the fuselage(as can be seen in the photos above) and added new horizontal locating stubs to replace the ineffectual vertical ones. Poor design by Roden or I've made a massive hiccup along the way re construction.
The holes at the top of the inner struts are where I intend to feed the rigging

I just hope my adjustments are accurate otherwise..........  :o

Toby,
I had the same strut problems on my Build, I had to cut down the aft struts of the main bay "V" Strut assemblies and also add longer tubes to the aileron connecting rods behind the cabane struts. It's coming along nicely, you're almost there!
Cheers,
Lance

Your rigging prep looks great! It looks as though you are on your way to having the struts worked out!

Good progress Toby. Struts are often a nightmare and the problem is they cannot be checked until the top wing is ready to be mounted, which has the ptential to cause even more problems. You seem to have solved them though - good luck with the final stages of a first class model. (The paint on the cowling looks so real!)

Just had a dry run and it’s still way out. The rear cabane  struts are forcing the top wing up so more trimming required.
Also I’m going to try and install the aileron connecting rods once the top wing is attached. Should be fun ....or not.

Toby,
I did mine the same way. Cut the new rods a bit longer then the required length, slide them into the hole in the fuselage, a drop of glue on the crank in the upper wing and snug it on. I used tweezers and it worked just fine!
Cheers,
Lance

Been fairly busy in and out of the pub.
Most of the rigging is complete and wings and U/C attached.
There have been issues and this is not my finest build by far.

It may not be your finest but it still looks very good. Looking forward to seeing it finished.

That reallyl turned out neat.  Your time and effort paid off with an outstanding model.  Goes to show, with some effort the Roden Kits build into a nice model to fill the gaps that WNW hasn't filled.  Makes me want to get one.
