I could see that the rear skid could easily get knocked off and lost so I decided to pre empt the inevitable and store it for a later date.



As I'm using the Mastercasters detail kit I had to remove the locating lugs inside the cockpit as they prevented the new side walls from fitting flushly.





With that done the side walls fit.

Some more work done on the cockpit





Unfortunately a small spar on the left hand side broke off and vanished into the great unknown, aka the carpet, but as it won't be seen anyway I'm not that fussed on its impromptu disappearance.

The IP on a 17 was limited to I believe  just one gauge(correct me if I'm wrong) and I managed to lose the one that comes with the cockpit upgrade. Fortunately I have some bezels from HGW and gauges from Airscale so I've made my own.
Obviously some fettling is needed before fitting.

I've hit a problem with lining every thing to enable the cockpit to be installed in one piece so I de constructed it  and I'm going to do it in stages.
