Hi Manni!
great result indeed, very convincing.
May I ask you a question? Which is the difference between masking with Tamya tape and artistic pen? The risult should be the same: a lighter shade where the ribs are. Is it 'just' a more user friendly technique, or there is something more that I am missing?
thank you very much, and keep up the great job!
ciao

Great work on the pre-shading, Manni!  The cowling looks amazing as
well.  Terrific update, my friend.

Cheers,
Ernie :)

Thank you Guys for your interest and your nice words,
@ Edo:
The pen I used only for the underside of the wing, were the ribs throw their shadow on.

Yesterday I have sprayed thee stripes and the White area for the Balkenkreuz on the fuselage.

And added some stripes of a rotating prop from propblur on the Rotary engine to let it loo a bit like it is running.

Bye,
Manni

Manni - that's some pretty awesome attention to detail! Love that rotary effect  ;)

Your weathering technique is noted with deep interest too - I shall unashamedly use that in the future - it looks very effective.

Keep it coming

Regards - Tug

I like your technique at creating the rotating effect on the engine, quite convincing.

Hello,
last weeks were a bit exhausting at my regular work (they have fired 1000 Employees of 5000) but I have managed to survive.

Here is a small update of my work. I still have to rig that plane and add the MG and the undercarriage.

Weathering was done with some Oils and a Brown washing.

The Eiserne Kreuze have been cut out and are applied on airbrushed squares.

A bad idea was to equip the Pilot with a selfmade scarf (it Looks terrible now) I will replace the head. Now ist looking a bit abnormal, becaue I decided to paint the mask/scarf in green with hight green horizontal strpes, so the guy is now looking like having a smiling watermelon instead of a face.

Don't worry, it's not that bad! Sounds like a bad week you had, best wishes for the future at your work!
If you still like to replace the head I'd recommend a Copper State Models Head. Their Gotha crew for example is brilliantly cast, they wear the protection helmets (which were even higher recommended flying Eindeckers...) and already have scarfs slung around nose and mouth. Tell me, if I should send you photos!

What's wrong with a watermelon scarf? Looks good to me Manni, and at the very least it would be a very good conversation piece.  :)

Whatever you decide to do with your pilot, the Fokker looks terrific, Manni.  Well done,
