Outstanding rigging Lance! I know the feeling all too well of melting a line into two pieces. It happened last night on the Pfalz using an incense stick. Got too close and POP! Pull out wire, re drill holes etc.

Lance that is an amazing job of the rigging!  A great exercise in patience, but you have
done wonderfully.  Quick question...what length are the brass tubes on the rigging?

Cheers,
Ernie :)

Rick,
There's them that have, and them that will! ;D Thanks for taking a look.
Ernie,
Thanks for the compliment; the tubes are mostly 1.5 mm with some 1.0mm's on the cabane struts.
Cheers,
Lance

Don't you just hate it when you discover a missing eyelet or two? Naturally that never happens until after the top wing is installed, no matter how many times you count them. And then to have a cabane line go slack on top of that. It would be enough to try the patience of Job. Nice recovery though! Really, really nice work here Lance.

Cheers,

Chris

Thank you both for looking and commenting, Chris and Bob. Not a totally smooth ride so far, but feels good once done!

Bud,
This is a very challenging Build, at least I'm finding it so. It's a very intricate design compared with the single seat designs I'm used to and the small parts and delicate components are easily damaged when inadvertently run into while working on an unrelated part. I keep putting sub assemblies aside for later in the construction and spend a lot of time trying to figure a sequence that will prevent "collateral damage". I broke several strut connections while doing the wing rigging, can't imagine the result had the landing gear assembly been on per the plan sequence.
Despite all of that it's an enjoyable project, but it does demand a slow and forward looking approach. As for the proverbial hammer thing, yep, it sure feels better when you can stop! :P
Cheers,
Lance

Just caught up again Lance - my word this is a testing project but you have tackled it with such a dedicated approach. Could be seen in some quarters I suppose, as a warning to potential builders but on the other hand totally inspirational for others to have a go - lovely, lovely workmanship, it's going to be a real stunner that's for sure.

Great work Lance!

Just two questions,  was the plumbing on the duel fuel tanks hard to do?.... did you run the plumbing when the top wing was attached?

Cheer's,
Jeff.

Tug,
Thank you for your very supportive comments. I sure don't intend to turn anyone away from this Kit, a challenge yes but perhaps more so to me then it would be to others with greater skills. There's certainly a lot of areas that could be done simpler and easier, I am my own worst enemy when it comes to keeping things in realistic perspective and curbing that all too familiar tendency to let AMS drive the direction of any Build! So far it's going well, no major disasters however there's lots of potential for trouble if I get too deep into the forest and lose sight of the trees!
More to follow on this little modelling adventure, I'm sure! ::)
Cheers,
Lance

Jeff and Martin,
Thanks for looking and for your kind comments.
Jeff,
I attached the twin fuel lines to the tanks as close as a dry fitting indicated they would fit just prior to mounting the top wing, then bent them slightly to make the connections where they mate up on the rear cabane strut. I used Medium thickness CA for that step. It proved a relatively easy step and the rigging then came next. I used very thin strips of Real Metal foil and CA to do the clamps on the lines where they hook up to each tank. I hope this is helpful, are you planning to do one?
Cheers,
Lance

I have missed a lot of this build - have just caught up and my oh my - that is really first class in every department. The rigging is superb, but the paint finishes are also excellent - a winner in the making here.

Thank you Stephen, coming from you that's a compliment to be really appreciated! It's a very "distressed" finish and one probably not to everyone's taste but I'm very happy with it so far.
Cheers,
Lance
