Really like the chipping you achieved on the struts, Lance. Very convincing.

Sorry Jeff, I'd forgotten our earlier exchange on control line routing. Are you going to open a Build Log on yours?
Cheers,
Lance

😄....no worries Lance!.... Yes mate, the cockpit is done on mine, bar the seat belts, as soon as they are painted, I will start a build thread.

Yours is looking absolutetly brilliant!!

Cheer's,
Jeff.

Rick,
Thanks; I'm assuming you mean the landing "Gear". ;)

Jeff,
Thanks for the endorsement; I'll look forward to seeing your Build Log.
Cheers,
Lance

I've completed the next step in this Build with the assembly and addition of the lattice tail assembly to the main components. The tail unit was pre-rigged with the exception of the forth or furthest forward bay.

I used Bob's Buckles and EZ Line to prevent warping of the flimsy lattice boom assembly from the tension on the rigging lines.

Once the assembly was attached to the wings the forward bay cross bracing wires were added.

The horizontal Stabilizer and small vertical stabilizer assembly was then glued to the frame with CA.

......and here she is with the rudder "posed", a big step completed.

I've now started the Flight Control Rigging, a slow process as a lot of work has to be done to run lines through pulleys between the wings, a real test of digital dexterity! Parts of these "runs" will be done with Modelkasten elastic rigging however most will be EZ Line to reduce tension on the lattice booms.
It's still progressing well however working with the delicate gear and tail assembly in place is already becoming a little scary!
Cheers,
Lance

That really looks terrific, Lance.  You must be very happy with your progress!

Out of curiosity, how does the elasticity of the Modelkasten differ from that of the EZ Line such that the former is more likely to warp the boom than the latter?  (I have some experience with EZ Line, but none with Modelkasten).

   Thanks for your comment Chris.
Although Modelkasten is elastic it does not nearly approach the "stretch" qualities of EZ Line. EZ Line can be stretched easily 4 or 5 times its slack length with little or no strain induced, Modelkasten will only stretch 1/5 or less of it's length and is quite strong thus would easily create enough strain to even break delicate parts such as these tail booms. I like the Modelkasten Product because it will stretch enough to compensate for changes in line tension when, for example, you rig your landing gear and then stand the model on her wheels only to find the weight has induced a force and your line(s) have gone slack. With Modelkasten there's enough tension to absorb the change. It's also round, as opposed to flat like EZ Line.

Lance
