It's so close.  Really just details needed to be added and landing gear.  Life has been busy as of late and other projects have necessarily come to the top!  Soon!!!!

Finally!  I got to spend some time on this guy.  I started adding the wheel axles and I slipped the wheels on so you can see the "sit" of the machine.  I also built the two machine guns and mounts with scratch ammo mags and mounting hardware.  The guns are spares from, I think, several Roden models.





Finally...a shot with the newly finished Junkers.  It's nice to see them in comparison!  8)


Lots of little things to go, but she is on the fast track to being finished...

All,

I made prop guards for the front gunner out of a brass outline and the thin rungs are EZ-Line.  They are not perfect (especially with cat fur caught in them!  :-[ ), but look pretty nice.  I also glued the wheels on, painted them a bit, painted the guns and now I need to look at the radiators and carve a couple of props.




In the home stretch, now!

P.S.  Some folks wanted to see a vac I just finished.  It's not WWI but it's a vac and it has lots of drag, wires, two wings and a Lewis for the gunner!  Here are a couple of shots for those interested.

Great models, both of them. Your AEG shows clearly, there is definitely life beyond WNW kits range! And how spectacular this life can be!
And the other one - a lovely model of an ugly bird. Forgive me my question - what is it?

Thanks, Guys...yup.  It's dang ugly.  It was called the Avro Bison and I think it was designed by the same fellow who made the Manchester/Lanc!

It was a ship-board observation plane that was first built in 1925 (my Dad's birth year!).  The design specs must have been very specific and selected for something like this (Large fuselage to work in, high cockpit for carrier landings etc.) because it is really similar to another "looker" called the Blackburn Blackburn.  Google it!  ;)

Thank you, Dan for the info. And the Blackburn-times-two is better known to me. It can only be compared with some French inter-war bombers... You can just check Amiot family...

I still think the Bison looks more like a Walrus with those exhausts sticking out underneath the nose - only the designer could have loved that one!
