Nice work, Rick...great wood treatment.  I've always thought that darn Se-5 seat looks so uncomfortable!

This is fun to watch...Dan

Hi Rick:

You are a taking on quite the challenge with this kit and doing yeomans work.  The pulley access panels really add to the kit, not a job for the faint hearted.  I have this kit and would like to do it in McCuddens markings as well, but; for those pulley access panels, I may have started on it.
Looking good Rick and I will be checking in to see how you are coming along.

Best

Lovely work, Rick. For me the SE5a was a thoroughbred amongst aircraft and you are really doing it justice.

Best wishes

Thanks Mark. I agree that the pulley inspection panels add a lot to the kit. On my original doomed SE5a Viper pictured earlier I drilled and cut out the area and scratch built my own pulleys. The resin and PE pieces really make this easier  ::) Overall the Roden/Encore kit is really fairly nice. I just ordered the WNW SE and may add it to this build for comparison... after all There is APF Rhys Davids scheme that would go great with McCuddens  8)

Warren

Thanks Warren! I was holding off expecting my WNW SE to arrive any day. It seems my order went astray somewhere in the US and returned to New Zealand so I started back just using the WNW directions to add some details. I will post photos in the next day or so. Not a whole lot done due to the delay. I re worked the seat cushion and added a few bits to the interior since the last photos. I am ready to add the control lines for elevators and rudder.

The only photo I have taken shows the left fuselage with the re-do of the seat cushion and some beginnings of control details copied from the WNW instructions and built using sheet styrene.
