2000 member guessing competition
« on: October 28, 2014, 08:07:40 PM »
Our lovely forum under gentle quidance by Des is approaching another milestone - 2000 members. Any ideas regarding the usual competition to predict the date when this number will be hit?
If so, I can drop something to a prize hat.

Hello Przemol - thank you for your kind comments and your thoughts regarding a competition for the forum reaching a milestone.

I am quite happy to run a guessing competition to see if anyone can come up with the exact date (day, month, year) when the forum member count hits 2000. As I did in the last competition, I will keep a tally of the registered date and keep an ongoing log on the forum which will allow members to see what dates have been reserved and what dates are still available.

A few simple rules:

1. Only one vote per member is permitted
2. No date change permitted after your date has been recorded
3. The winner will have to select the exact date which will be Australian Eastern Daylight Saving Time.
4. Competition is open to all members
5. Cut-off date for submitting a date is 20th November 2014
6. A prize will be given to the winner of the competition
Admin is giving a $50Aus gift voucher to be spent at one of the following forum shops

     Great War Models
     Aviattic
     Gaspatch Models
     Nordland Models
     Albatros Productions
     Pheon Decals
     Drill Bits Unlimited

6. Przemol has added either a 1:72 scale Omega Curtiss Jenny or a 1:32 scale Roden RAF SE.5a

Please register your date selection now, remember, first in best dressed for the best dates.

Des.

Nice to see our favourite game going, Des. There is a fine prize you offer, tempting! Thank you!

My guess - Santa Claus Day, i.e. December 6th.

And my promised contribution to the prize hat:
depending on the preference modelling scale
either a 72nd scale Curtiss Jenny from Omega
or a 32nd scale RAF SE.5a from Roden
The prize will go to the closest guessing person, measured with one day precision, in the case of same day distance the winner will be the earlier guess (underestimate)

I'll guess the 4th of December, my anniversary...that ought
to be at least some points at home, although I do like Bob's
approach. ;D

Cheers,
Ernie :)

I'll take December 26.
