Thank you very much Mark!

I think that the front struts are about the same height, and have also the same angle, but they are a bit leaning towards the rear, not much but anyway...  The pre-drilled holes in the upper wing to receive the "V" struts are not far enough from each other. So there is enough to worry about in the coming days/weeks.
I have another question too. On the instruction sheets of the kit all the colors are Model Color. Do you or anyone else have any experience with that brand? Thank you!

Kind regards
Patrick

Very nice work about your model Patrick.
I think about Gunze or Vallejo.

Thank you Martin, you are always very kind! About the paint, do you mean that Model Color is like Gunze or Vallejo? Or that you have only experience with these two?

Kind regards
Patrick

From Gunze I have only Hobby Colour.
I use many different Brands. Not often Tamiya, many more Vallejo, Hobby Colour and Mister Kit and some old Aero Master colours.

I think I used Misterkit for one of my Nieuports, an Italian plane with a French 5-colour scheme. I usually do use Misterkit now, but still have some Model Color. It's Testors isn't it? Quite nice paint, in general, I really like their Burnt Metal... sorry that doesn't help you much!

Roden have changed their colour call outs a lot. In the old days it was Humbrol, now they quote Vallejo.
Honestly, I would go with the brand you normally use, I'm sure you'll find good equivalents.
You may find this useful, The Ultimate Model Paint Conversion Chart, http://www.paint4models.com/
Actually, this one's quite good too - http://scalemodeldb.com/paint

I think Roden's research is okay, it's just that the more you get into markings and colours, you find you want to read around a bit, don't you? Eg. when it comes to WWI colours, whoever's kit it is, I tend to go 'Hmm... I wonder what Uncle Ray (Rimell) says in the Datafile...'  ;)

Hello Mark,

This is all very useful advice, thank you very much! I know the two links you have been so kind to give me. The only problem with the second one is that when I upload a photo the color search does not seem to work. Maybe if I would stick with my usual brand, Tamiya that is, that would be the best to do. I am pleased with it and really works well with the a/b. I have searched in a lot of paint conversion charts, but the conversion from Model Color to Tamiya is not always to be found. When I did the camo for the Nieuport 28, Bo adviced me to look for the used colors of the WnW Salmson , what I did and I was very satisfied with it. Anyway thank you very much Mark for having taken the trouble to look for a solution!

Kind regards
Patrick

Hello Siskin,

Found necessary photo

Thank you so much! Is this photo from a model you have been building? I had the same problems with the Ni 16. I saw the mis-drilling after the decals were on, so I had to repair the decals too. But I changed only the hole nearby the front of the wing, because changing the other hole too, would bring that hole very close to the ailerons. What do you think?

Kind regards
Patrick

A second hole should be near the ailerons. Very close))

Excellent work as usual, my friend Patrick.  Good work preparing the wing.
Due to your past experience with the Nieuports, I'm sure you will beat the
"Dragon" on this one too!  Keep up the good work, Patrick. :D ...pm :)

Cheers,
Ernie :)

Outstanding work, Patrick!  I really like your choice of colors on the Nie.28.  They will look fantastic on this one.

Bud

You are making excellent progress with your build Patrick, the gaps around all the joins although annoying are quite easily rectified and in your capable hands should end up unseen. Looking forward to seeing more of this great build.

Ernie,
Looking great! Be sure to check on Nieuport 27 builds also as they are virtually the same kit. As for the colors if doing a French camoed scheme then I would personally go for the same colors you used on that BEAUTIFUL 28! It seems to me that Mounting the upper wing first may be the way to go as suggested, then attach the lower wing panels. The other way seems to cause an inordinate amount of anhydral . JMHO and a guess.  8) Having not built this one yet.
