Thanks, Bo, James and Rick!  I'm pleased with how well the paint matches, especially considering I've got a little touch-up to do.

I used the WNW Humbrol call out for the blue and at first I was alarmed at how dark and bright it is compared to the profiles I've seen, but it's grown on me, so I think I'll leave it.
Cheers,
Bud

Thanks, my friends!  T, this issue has been the biggest headache for me on this build and let this be a lesson for anyone building the Roden kit with the engine exposed: INSTALL THE ENGINE BEFORE ATTACHING THE NOSE ASSEMBLY TO THE FUSELAGE!  I had gone to a great deal of effort detailing the Roden engine, replacing ignition wiring tubes, replacing valve springs with guitar string, adding spark plugs, adding rocker arms, adding wiring harnesses and oil and fuel plumbing, all with the intention of leaving the top cowling pieces off, only to discover that the engine would not fit past the firewall and the radiator.  I then went to plan B, installing a Karaya engine, which is much smaller, and it, too, wouldn't fit without sawing off the front and rear of the crank case.  I'm able to make it work, though the Karaya engine is nowhere near as detailed as plan A.  Therefore, the only bit of engine you will see, will be the top and what can be seen through the open inspection panels.  Disappointing, but it'll be alright.  Working on all of that right now.
Cheers,
Bud

Thanks, Rick.  This scheme and all the work I put into it was the only thing that saved it from taking flight across the room when I discovered my mistake with the engine installation.  It's one of my favorites, too.
Cheers,

Not possible to just do a litte surgery to the upper structure? (To get the Roden motor in, I mean)

That radiator looks like it could be removed with a little brute force and ignorance.
I don't think so, Bo and Justin, not with the bomb-proof way I glued it all together.  'Sides, I don't possess your post-assembly/paint surgery skills, Bo. ;)  Not a total loss, though.  I'll just use the engine in the next one.
Cheers,
Bud

Bud,

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles with the engine fit.  That aside, I love how this is turning out; that is one of my favorite schemes and you have done a lovely job with it.  I honestly can't tell which bit is paint, and which is decal!  Oh, and I think the blue looks terrific.
